Toronto, ON – April 12, 2018 – IFSE Institute (IFSE), the educational arm of The Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC), announced today that it has launched Career Pathways, an engaging and interactive tool to help industry professionals explore various job roles in financial services.
“The financial services sector in Canada continues to grow and offer outstanding job opportunities,” said Christina Ashmore, managing director of IFSE Institute. “Our goal is to provide our students with valuable tools and resources, whether they’re just starting out or looking to advance in their careers.”
The Career Pathways platform is organized into four categories: starting your career, advice channel, operations/back office, and compliance. Users can click through the tool to reveal a variety of potential roles. Each role provides a job description, list of key skills or attributes, estimated salary range, and recommended courses. To complement the tool, IFSE created videos to highlight some of the most popular careers in the industry. Users can get a quick snapshot of “a day in the life of” a mutual fund advisor, client services representative, or insurance agent.
In addition to Career Pathways, visitors to IFSE’s website can access a variety of career-related resources. Blog posts provide valuable advice on topics that include where to find financial services jobs, interviewing skills, creating LinkedIn profiles, overcoming a lack of Canadian work experience, and much more. IFSE’s Careerlink is a job board that connects employers to IFSE students.
“The financial services sector plays a vital role in the financial well-being of Canadians and to the economy as a whole,” added Ashmore. “We encourage new entrants to explore career opportunities in this dynamic, diverse and robust industry.”
